Old world elegance and charm manifests on an array of luxury, ornamental prints to create Floriental. Inspired by oral and oriental elements, this collection sees the restoration of 18th century damasks and artisan warp printing techniques, giving historic artwork a fresh lease of life. The Romantic designs presented in this range glorify the past and nature in a classically ornate manner; picturesque birds nestled amongst blossoming peonies adorn bright silk and linen with chintz nishing, while decorative Art Nouveau motifs are revived on rich velvets.
Saracen is a range of high-performance fabrics that similarly re ects the opulence of a bygone era. Constructed in Trevira CS, and inspired by Moorish art and architecture and the highly decorative mo- tifs of the Byzantine Empire, Saracen creatively brings together style and durability in equal measure. An arabesque look and feel is a distinct feature, noticeable in Ablaq, our Moorish stripe; Ebru, a mar- ble inspired jacquard; and Nasrid, a geometric design, which is in uenced by intricate palace tiling from the culturally rich metropole of Constantinople. Re ecting the Turkish capital’s geographic posi- tion, connecting Europe with Asia, the collection evokes an ‘East meets West’ feel, a concept that is synonymous with Jim Thompson, a man who famously travelled from the West to settle in the East.
